Fun experience! Daggett was awesome. His shop isn't the cleanest, but its aworking man's shop. Ididn't find anything tobe concerned with asfar assafety goes orhygienic issues. Hewatches you very closely toensure your safety. Hegoes over the heat sources and safety concerns prior toanyone starting. Pretty sad tosee some ofthese reviews. This man has generously opened his shop and home topeople for atrue authentic experience.

We had agreat time withDan! Hehelped usmake beautiful Christmas ornaments and taught usa little about the history ofglass blowing. His teaching style isstraightforward and concise due tosafety (it’s molten glass after all) but wefound him tobe friendly and helpful. Irecommend this asa fun date idea.

Disappointing. Would not return tothis studio.

I purchased the introductory glass-blowing class fortwo. Itwas abit ofa challenge toschedule, involving several phone calls back and forth with changing availability onMr. Daggett'send. Once wehad the appointment scheduled for mid-October, Dan did provide more detailed instruction onhow tofind the place and what type ofclothing towear. This was helpful information that some others apparently did not also receive.

        Dan was friendly enou

gh when hegreetedus, but that did not extend tohis teaching style. Hegave brief instructions onselecting colors for our ornaments. Itwas clear hewas concerned about safety with the flames and hot items inthe shop. However, the shop was covered indust and glass fragments, and wedid not see him sanitize the blowing pipes weused. After perfunctory instructions, webegan. Myfriend went first, and when heyelled atherto, “TURN! TURN!” neither ofus knew ifhe meant toturn the pipe orher body. Itwas the beginning ofa nerve-wracking and flustering experience. Once the glass was heated enough wehad tokneel onthe glass-fragment-covered floor inorder toblow the bauble.

When wefinished (about 45minutes later), Ipaid anextra $20for Dan toship the ornaments tome, and asinstructed wrote down the colors weused onour ornaments sohe could identify them. When Icalled two weeks later toask about the ornaments, Dad said he'd ship them inthe next few days. Six week after our “class”, noornaments had arrived. During another follow-up phone call toDan, hesaid he'd ship them the next workday. Iasked for atracking number. Hecalled afew days later with the tracking number.

The package arrived with ONE ornament inside not wrapped inanyway, but sitting onsome tissue paper, a“RECEIVED UNSEALED” sticker onthebox, and “REWRAPPED-RESEALED” tape from the post office. The one ornament that astonishingly arrived intact does not appear tobe the one Imade— itis shaped differently atthetop.

I will never know ifthe missing ornament was ever included inthe package. After somuch delay, and knowing the disarray inthe shop, Idoubted Dan would have any way (other than the colors weused) ofknow which ornaments wereour, orof finding them.

If wedecide totry glass-blowing again, we'll find another studio.

Got this via Groupon for myMom's birthday and wehad agreat time!! Dan was friendly and super knowledgeable. His instructions are stern, though inthis setting Ithink you have tobe (ie, 2000degree heat). Weplan ongoing back and making more ornaments! Irecommend everyone else who commented read the fine print before booking;)

Wow… This was definitely anexperience… Ifound this place from aGroupon— and even atthe “discounted” price Idon't think itwas worth the money. The place was hard tofind, scheduling was very difficult, wewere not really given much instruction before wecame sowe were caught off guard byall ofthe “rules” that weren't explained ahead oftime. The instructor was not nice atall… He's agrumpy guy and Ifelt asthough hedidn't really care ifwe had agood time ornot.

            Don't even ge

t mestarted onall the safety issues ofthis place.... broken glass EVERYWHERE, power tools lying around, and there was NOsafety instructions before wegot started… Itwas just jumping rightin.

It was not explained tous ahead oftime that wewould have toleave our ornaments there tocool overnight… Welive inthe Denver Metro area soits not exactly convenient for usto get upto this studio....
The ornaments are NOT organized orlabeled WHATSOEVER, you're just supposed toremember which one was yours— and they all look exactly the same.....

We were mostly thrown off byhow rude the instructorwas. Wemessed upa couple times and the guy yelled atus… Icouldn't believeit…

I'm really not sure how he's still inbusiness. Buthey… wehave crazy stories tosharenow.

I would not recommend this glass blowing studio. Firstly itis VERY dirty and smells like cat urine. Idoubt this place would pass ahealth department exam… myhusband and Itook aclass here and wewere both inand out inunder 20minutes. Itwas our second time glass blowing and wefelt like the instructor was burdened byus needing help. Healso yells and does not communicate orteach well. When wewent topick upour ornaments, hedidn't even know which ones were ours! Then, hewas arguingme about the one Iwanted totake. Itwas very uncomfortable. Iwas hoping this would bea better experience but wewill not beretuning tothis place– show

please consider going somewhere else. Itis worth the money.

I bought aclass here for mydad for his birthday this year. Icalled the studio directly— was told tobook mydad abeginner class. $60for a45—60minute class. Ididn't ask for itto bethis cheap. ItoldMr. Daggett that mydad had blown glass before sohe was wanting toexplore glass blowing abit more— was met with afriendly response onthe phone “yes, for sure wewill make anornament and apaper weight with coloretc.” agai

n Idid not ask for itto bethis cheap but Ihave never booked glass blowing before Ididn't know what itshould cost…I clearly didn't doenough research. Onthe day ofhis class— mydad was told hecould make either apaper weight oran ornament and when heasked ifhe could explore moreMr. Daggett said “that's all the time you paid for”. Hedidn't explain things well atall and often yelled instead ofcommunicating. The class was nowhere near 45minutes infact— the whole experience including introductions, walking around his studio, removing and hanging jackets, putting onthe gloves, glasses was less than 25minutes. When hecalled tocome pick uphis ornament -Mr. Daggett asked which item was his and mydad told him— ablue ornament— thenMr. Daggett said AND WHAT ELSE. Mydad said you didn't let memake anything else. Wepicked uphis ornament from amailbox unwrapped just sitting rolling around ina mailbox inthe middle ofwinter. MaybeMr. Daggett just didn't like mydad maybe he's always like this. Mydad isa person ofcolor sowouldn't bethe first time. Support somewhere else ifyoucan. It's worth the extra money Ipromise.– show

It was interesting tosee this form ofglassart. Both myhusband and Iattended and each made adifferent product. Dan was not agreat teacher, hehad ashort temper, did most ofmy husbands work and sat around after giving uslittle instruction because his back hurt. IfI ever doglass blowing again itdefinately will not beat this place.

Honestly, this was alittle disappointing, even with aGroupon discount. Think wepaid about $75for anintroduction toglass blowing. Our time here lasted about 20—30min.

Dan isan enthusiast for the craft and had apretty clear process laid out for his students. Unfortunately, there was no“pre-game” walk-through orexplanation ofwhat you'll bedoing and his gruff demeanor didn't make things any easier. Would have appreciated either a) better tutelage upfront, orb) more patience while fum

bling around inmy first foray into the glass arts.

(To befair— when working around 2200degrees, you can't afford tomake any mistakes. Injuries would becatastrophic and Iimagine Dan was trying hard toprevent them.)

And finally, it's worth noting that neither ofthe glass ornaments wemade survived. When wefinished mine, itwas (literally) tossed into acooling cabinet (where Iassume itfractured), and the other broke while removing itfrom blowing tool.

The following morning wereturned topick-up, but both ornaments were already broken and went straight into the trash.

All said— itwas probably afair price tosee how things work ina studio like this, but wehoped toleave with asmile (and souvenir). Noluck.
