Cadillac Maintenance Pricing & Schedules

Cadillac’s motto is the Standard of the World. It’s not because they make just a so-so car. There is lots to love these days, from the ATS and CTS-V all the way up to the CT6 and Escalade. As majestic as these rides are, they are like small children or pets in that they require maintenance. In other words, they can’t do it themselves.

That’s the reason why the Cadillac has a series of scheduled maintenance guidelines to let owners know when to perform a specific inspection or replacement of a fluid, tires, wipers and other components that make up your vehicle.

Cadillac Maintenance Guidelines

Since 2011, all Cadillac vehicles come standard with Cadillac Premium Care Maintenance, which covers select maintenance services. They include oil changes based on your Cadillac’s Life Monitor System that will alert you within 600 miles of a scheduled 7,500-mile oil change interval. It will also include engine air filter replacement, tire rotation at 7,500 miles and a multi-point vehicle inspection. Vehicles in the 2011-2016 range, and the 2017 Cadillac XT5 all receive 4-year/50,000-mile coverage; 2017 and newer Cadillacs enjoy 3-year/36,000-mile coverage. As a value-added component to Cadillac ownership, the Premium Care Maintenance program is fully transferable to subsequent owners.

The Cadillac Life Monitor System is an intelligent system which “if driven under the best conditions,” may not indicate a need for vehicle service for up to one year. Still, it should not extend beyond 12-months, and will require resetting. Speaking of 12-month periods, we recommend a tire rotation and alignment once a year.

The rest of the service schedule comes directly from the Owner’s Manual.

Cadillac Maintenance Intervals

Here are just a few examples of service highlights:

7,500 Miles

Every 7,500 miles: At this interval, your Cadillac mechanic should rotate tires, inspect brake pads and engine air filter, and following the Cadillac Life Monitoring System, change the oil and oil filter as necessary.

22,500 Miles

At 22,500 miles: Many of the same tasks as seen at 7,500 miles are repeated here, but they are joined with a replacement of the passenger in-cabin air filter.

30,000 Miles

Oil changes and tire rotations continue through the 30,000- and 37,500-mile range.

45,000 Miles

At 45,000 miles: It’s time for another oil and oil filter change, along with a tire rotation. But Cadillac mixes it up at this point, by adding a change of the in-cabin air filter, and an inspection of the evaporative control system. They wrap this service up by replacing the engine air cleaner filter.

These are all basics that every owner should be aware of. Just remember the 7,500-mile intervals as a keystone of proper service to your Cadillac vehicle.

Cadillac Pre-Paid Maintenance Plus Plan

Cadillac offers a Pre-Paid Maintenance Plus plan which includes the standard maintenance program (Oil and Filter Changes along with tire rotation), and may include air filters, cabin air filters, transmission and transfer fluid changes, and spark plugs.

Multi-Point Vehicle Inspection with Every Service

At every service, Cadillac service technicians and mechanics will perform a Multi-Point Vehicle Inspection. At this point, they inspect certain aspects of your vehicle including battery condition, wheel alignment and tire wear, brake wear, windshield wiper wear, and connectivity status to OnStar.

Extended Service/Extended Warranty

GM recently announced an extended warranty program where Cadillac will offer coverage that pushes out bumper-to-bumper protection from 4 years/50,000 miles to 6 years/70,000 miles. This extended contract will be offered at the time of sale and the cost, which will range between $1,000 to $2,000 depending on brand and model, can be rolled into the price of the vehicle and financed. If the owner opts for the additional coverage, the extended terms stay with car through subsequent owners. GM stresses that this isn’t a service contract, but rather an extension of the vehicle’s original warranty.

Cadillac Protection Plan

For service that extends beyond the traditional 3-year/36,000-mile service interval, Cadillac offers the Cadillac protection plan with additional coverage for approved repairs including lost key and lock out, trip interruption, towing and road service, and rental car reimbursem*nt. They go on to state that if a covered breakdown occurs you will have access to GM certified service technicians at any one of the 4,000-plus GM dealerships nationwide.

The program extends the warranty life of the engine, transmission, drive axle, turbochargers or superchargers, transfer case, steering, braking and air conditioning components along with coverage for all seals and gaskets. The program is transferable to the person that you sell or otherwise transfer your vehicle to. Examine program brochures and contracts for more details.
